This chapter reviews
communication campaigns about plastic issues. After a general summary
of public
communication campaigns, the focus then turns to a review of plastic
campaigns
and interventions, emphasizing plastic bags, plastic bottles, plastic
recycling, and marine polluting plastics, along with critiques and
challenges.
We spotlight the case of China’s recent efforts to manage plastic
waste. The
chapter then discusses theoretical frameworks, common influences and
outcome
variables, methodological approaches, and stakeholder involvement in
plastic
communication campaigns.
